All bar stock regulators will be supplied with chemical & physical material certificates from a government approved NABL laboratory (subjected to minimum order quantity), all regulators are batch numbered, and certificates are kept on file. Together with our in-house cross-reference system this provides full traceability.
Industrial grade bar stock regulators will have surface finishes to 0.8-1.6 um and be ultrasonically cleaned. (Oxygen clean) Regulators for semiconductor high purity systems have surface finishes to 0.25um and are electro polished to semiconductor industry standards.
All industrial grade regulators are pressure tested with nitrogen or optionally with helium to the maximum inlet pressure and next performance tested. Regulators for high purity systems are leak tested with helium mass spectrometers.
In order to choose the correct regulator the following information is needed:
Function
:
Pressure reducing or backpressure control?
Pressure
:
What is the maximum and minimum inlet and outlet pressure ranges?
Fluid
:
Is it a gas or a liquid
Temperature
:
What is the operating temperature?
Flow
:
What are the flow requirements?
Single Stage regulators reduce pressure in a single step to deliver a pressure within specific range. Regulators designed in this way will show slight variation in delivery pressure as the cylinder pressure falls during use. For this reason, single stage regulators are best suited for applications where a constant outlet pressure is not critical, where an operator can monitor and re-adjust pressure, or where inlet pressure is constant.
A two-stage regulator is merely two single-stage regulators in series within one body. Dual stage regulators perform the same function as single stage regulators. This regulator reduces high pressure in two steps, resulting in a more constant delivery pressure, right down to cylinder exhaustion. This regulator is useful especially for unattended operation, where the process condition remains constant.
